one day

speak or write
the word
homosexual
or homosexuality
and there continues to
be reaction
in the larger church
in the larger culture

perhaps because the
word contains
sex

and the word sex...
remains a lightening rod
for opinions

on the most part we
don't talk about
sex
especially when
it involves our personal story

and yet
sex in general
sales
and is the
endless topic of
jokes
innuendos
hush hush conversation

speak or write the word
hetero
sex
ual
and there is no real
panic
no
over
reaction
no focus on
sex
as an act

speak or write the
word
hetero
sex
ual
and a person
or a couple
or people
thier names and personalities
more easily come to mind

speak or write the
word
homo
sex
ual
and there are many
who think only
of sex
the act
and their
repulsion to
such

there is less
focus on the person
or a couple
thier names and personalities

as if
a
homosexual
can only be
one thing
a sex act

and this
is
simply a
lie

homosexuals
are people
with names and personalities
faith and gifts...
real people
who think
and love
and work
and fret
and cry
and laugh
and pay bills
and believe in GOD
and clean dirty diapers
and care for thier elderly parents
and support thier partners
and hear what others say about them
and eat
and diet
and live
and die

one day
saying
homosexual
will be as lack
luster as saying
heterosexual
