Happy birthday to my baby girl!

She's sweet 16 today. She had five friends over this afternoon for a little party. They ate cake and played hide-n-seek! We are now getting ready for an evening party with mainly adults.....adults that my daughter wanted to spend her birthday with. Her aunt and uncle, and good friends will gather to celebrate her birth.

What a day!

16 years ago we lived in South Arkansas. She was born near noon on a Sunday. We welcomed her....utterly exhausted.....but totally in love the first second I we saw her.

She is awesome.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Love,
Dad

It's a poignant time ahead - part child but on the brink of adulthood, the work of launching her into a grown up world begins. It's sad in a way when you realise the days of having a little child are really gone but, as someone who is a decade and more ahead of you - the rewards of seeing them as adults and having an adult relationship with them - that is amazing, I can honestly say I have enjoyed my children more each year since they were given to me - enjoy x

Sixteen years old and she wants to spend her birthday with adults. She sounds much like my daughters who think family is the next best thing to sliced bread. She sounds delightful. Please, wish her a sweet 16th birthday from a total stranger.
