In the 50's and 60's the church became departmentalized. The ministry of the church became segmented. Christian Education in particular was relegated to another part of the building. Typically, members are willing to fund education in the church, they just don't want to have to do it themselves. As long as the children are safe and quiet everything is fine for many in the church.

In many ways the departmentalization of the church is no longer working.

Here's what we plan to do.

We are looking at how to redistribute the 2009 budget to fund a new Music Ministry. The catch is this. The Music ministry will be given funds and the charge to provide at least three months of Bible and religious education using music.

We believe music is on of the strengths of the church, a strength that needs to offer more leadership and life in the church.
