"I thought you said we were going to sing Christmas carols!" she said at the top of her lungs. I told her I didn't recall saying such. "Well I want to sing Christmas carols!" she said three volumes louder. I tried to get her to agree that we would sing next week. But she was not about to budge. I want to play the piano and sing you a carol I learned. "You know how to play the piano?" I asked. "Yes, yes I do." she said with all the confidence in the world. He mother near by indicated with her nodding head that she didn't know how to play the piano.
I looked at the little girl and said, "Well I guess we need to hear your song." She marched over to the piano and sat down as if she were about to play for sold out crowd. She played. She didn't play a song...just random notes....and as she plucked away she sang...."They skated on the ice......it was almost Christmas......the ice......the skates!" It was not a song that will ever get published or recorded, but I heard it. It was beautiful.
What a way to end the day.

Sometimes we have to let go and let God take the wheel!!!
Kids are the greatest. The confidence they show when they want to do something is just amazing.
I used to love when my children made up songs, or I made up songs to sing to them. It always brought laughter.
