empty strength

empty eggs
dunked into buckets

drowning
with color

300
delicately cracked open
drained
dried
and
dyed
egg shells

children
young and a bit older
did the dying

come to find out

empty
egg shells
are stronger
than you think

metal spoons
plastic buckets
moving children

in it all we only lost one shell
and only damaged one

empty eggs
are stronger
than you think

i suppose
the same is true for us

we are often afraid
to let go
step back
give up
hand over
empty
our selves

but the truth
remains
we are
stronger than we think

we may feel
vulnerable
fragile
and utterly broken

but
in reality we
are stronger than we think

our emptied
shells
have strength enough
to be drowned
in a new coat
of color

empty
is not
how we have
defined it

empty can be
strength

we are
stronger than
we
think
