i will miss this place

and yes
to all those
i have yammered to
about loud mufflers
a tiny
twisted part of me
will miss
or shall i say
will remember with
a chuckle
those countless
cars and trucks driving
by my little house day and night
rumbling the walls and windows

mostly i will miss
the simple grace
of this place
the non anxious faith

the "relax Blake....everything
is going to be fine attitude."

the lemon pie, tomato aspic,
and all the other yummies
served at the tuesday morning
women's potluck.

the courthouse bells chiming
the hour as early as 6am and
as late as midnight.

my walks in Raby park
and to the old Leon river bridge.

Sunday lunches with
delightful folks

and I must say i will
miss the gorgeous flowers
greeting us each Sunday morning
note:
many churches get a spray of
greenery with a few gladiolas
and cornations
here the flowers come in such variety
surprising us with joy
each week

i'll miss my drives
across the central Texas hills
and the sites i've seen
and photographed:
