day...

Good?
Not so good in so many ways.

Betrayal.
Denial.
Taunting.
Innocent yet found guilty.
Flogged.
Thorns.
Crucifixion.
Death.
Good?

Not so much.

In Germany
this day is called
Karfreitag...
Mourning Friday.

Did we begin calling this day:
God Be With You Friday?

Then we got tired
so it became God Friday?

But over the years we opted for Good Friday...
and with the word Good we did theology
to explain how this dreadful day
paves the way for good.

Good
God
its Friday.

Give us courage wisdom and strength
to stay by your side today and tomorrow.
