lean on me...

I give thanks to the dear ones in my life
who in the midst of dark days this past year
said,
"Lean on me."

I give thanks for your listening ear,
and your kind and wise words.

I give thanks that you all have gently pushed me
to a new place where I can now breathe more easily.

I give thanks for what was,
what is,
and what will be.

It now becomes my prayer:
When you encounter a dark day
may I be the one with wisdom
enough to do the same for you.
