laughter caught up in grief...

My dear sweet, faithful friend Kaylyn died this past weekend. She was too young. My heart is broken. How thankful I am that I called her early this weekend. She was too busy to talk....but said she would call back. I told her I loved her. She said, "I will call you." She died before she was able to call.

I give thanks for this dear, dear woman. I told her years ago when I was serving as her pastor that I sensed in her a call to ministry. She went to some seminary and served three churches a youth director.

We talked this past year about things that matter: Why do we worry about what we worry about? Why do we deny things that in the end if we embraced we would be whole? Why does it take us so long to take care of ourselves?

Kaylyn...you were a dear friend. Thank you for sharing your life, your song, your laughter, your faith, your fear, your story. I love you and will always be thankful that God allowed our lives to to cross. My life is better for having known you.

Well put friend. She was a dear soul that made a HUGE impact on the lives of all those kids who will never forget their youth director or the loving life lessons she taught them.

Enjoy the Banquet, Kaylyn.
