After church and after lunch I drove to Italy. I was there in less than an hour. My experience in Italy does not quite live up to the experience of other travelers. I was not in the vicinity of the Pope, nor did I hear anyone speaking Italian. I guess that's due to the fact I never left Texas.
I drove to Italy......Italy, Texas.....population 1,193. Italy was not named for the old country and as far as most know there is no one of Italian decent in Italy, Texas. The Postmaster named the town. He reported that the climate in this part of Texas must be like that of Italy.
Some important things to know
when visiting Italy, Texas:
First, the town's name is pronounced: It'-ly.
Second, It'-ly is home to a dome village as pictured above.

THOSE DOMES caught my attention ... I went sleuthing ... we're looking for alternate housing for our community - something small, contained and CHEAP ... my friend you just added to the mix !!!
