i did it and I am alive to tell about it....

The two posts today are dedicated to the Canadian Preacher who encouraged me to get on my bike and ride. So I did it.

First I had to dig the old bike out of the garage. Both tires were flat...so I loaded up and went to the corner gas station and filled the tires. The picture above is the sidewalk in my neighborhood. The first part of the ride was peaceful. Then I turned to go out of our neighborhood....

I chose the four lane boulevard with heavy traffic for my first ride. I almost died! Good thing my ending destination was the cemetery near our house. It is a beautiful setting....thought if this bike idea killed me I would end my ride in the right spot.

It is amazing what one sees when on a bike. I had no idea we had a creek near us!

I only attempted four miles.

It was all I could handle.

We don't live in steep hills....but the constant slopes of the roads were more than I expected.

So here's to my first ride!

Well I can't say what I am thinking in this forum...but you know!

For your information it says
GEAX which is the plural for Geek.

So as we used to say as little ones...."Takes one to know one!"

indeed....lol

Never said I wasn't a geek ... but after shedding close to 40 pounds, I'm a lean, mean GEEK !!! And proud of it ...

so together, we're bookend GEAX to the continent !!!

Happy RIDING Brother ... one day we WILL venture forth together, be it in Texas, or Manitoba, or somewhere in between - we'll MAKE it happen !!!

Just a warning: There will be no group rides on Thanksgiving. You can ride solo while I eat pie.
