has begun
and i'm sure
there is plenty of history
to share
mostly
stories
personal
stories...
stories
that can be told
which
in itself
is history making
especially for
those who
don't take for granted
they have a voice
and are
no longer shrouded
in the depths of
the proverbial closet.
sharing a personal story
is the way we
get to know who someone is.
when i hear your story
i am invited
to peel away
preconceptions.
when i hear your story
i gain insight
into who you are
and who you are not.
when i hear your story
it gives me courage
and space to share mine.
so really gay history month
is all about sharing a story.
may our stories
pave the way to peace.
may our stories
lead to what is good and just.
may our stories
speak hope
for those
who continue to hide
and remain silent.
it may be redundant
but i'll say it any way
happy gay
story
month.
