the small town we are all from...

Garrison Keillor says
childhood is
the small town we are all from.

Jack Maguire writes:
Childhood is the common denominator
among human beings.
It's an era of
innocence, wonder and flexibility,
for all of us,
before we begin to
crystallize into separate
more restricted
and more rigid
identities.

Seems to me
we need to tap into
the blessings of childhood again...
make space for

innocence, wonder and flexibility.

In particular,
many in America
have defined Christian faith
as separate, restricted and rigid.

I believe
this is the basic angst in the church
especially in the church I serve
(Presbyterian Church U.S.A.)

Our debates and votes

and dissension
need to make way
for
imagination,
and dreams
in what
God longs us
to see
hear
feel
smell
taste....
experience!
