(The Fun With Dick and Jane series was discontinued in 1970 by the publishers, Scott, Foresman and Company due to controversy concerning how to best incorporate the realities of integration. In 1965 the story line introduced an African American family into the seemingly white suburban neighborhood of Dick and Jane, but it was not enough to tell the story emerging post integration. A story we are continuing to learn.)
