There are always a couple
of strong thinking...
strong believing...
strong speaking
people
who are confident
in their "right"ness
in their faith
in their believing
in their knowing
about
God
and
the things of God.
The confidence
and "right"ness of a few
tend
to quieten
those whose faith is
defined as
ordinary,
questioning,
open...
The confidence
and "right"ness of a few
and the desire
of this age for
right
doctrine...
thinking....
tends to squelch
conversation in
the church.
"I'm not as knowledgeable as she is."
"I don't know the Bible like he does."
"I'm not good about talking about God."
And yet....
God is in
the personal....
the ordinary
stories and
experiences in life.
Only you know
the personal,
ordinary stories
of your life.
Only you know
how God moves
and works in
your life.
It is time for us
to share our stories...
and to
stop angst-ing about
what we think
we should know....
what we think
we should
sound like.
God is in the ordinary.
