I am learning in a very personal and powerful way why it is so important to take one day at a time. I've heard the words throughout my life. My brother in his 11th year of recovery lives these words everyday. I've been proud of him for that. I thought my life was together enough not to have to live this way. But seems the best way to live is one day at a time.
In the midst of change I am working this day to see the joy and life.
In the midst of grief I am working this day not to allow the darkness to overshadow.
In the midst of a journey I know that I have surrounded myself with bright and beautiful people who have shown me what unconditional love is all about. It is not some lofty theological concept, it is real. This grace and their love are nurturing me.
In the midst of life I have had courage to reach out and ask for help. It's not so bad, nor is it hard. I asked and I have recieved help. Help and hope that will lead me to tomorrow.
One day at a time.
