I serve a connectional church. The purpose of the larger church, the Presbytery (regional church governing body) is to help balance power. The larger church serves to provide balances and checks for the local church. My chronic email sender has finally crossed a line. I've dealt with her dysfunctional behavior for almost five years. This week I packed up all her emails and my responses to them and sent it all to be put on file at the Presbytery. Hopefully this record will help others discern what really happens in this church I serve.
A reminder: This email offender is the very one who reported the death of a another church member. When I received the news I called the wife of the man who had died to let her know I was on my way to her home. Before leaving the house the wife of the deceased called and asked why I was coming to their house. I inquired about her husband and she reported he was fine....still dealing with chronic issues but alive! Seems an ambulance was spotted in their neighborhood and another member assumed the worst....called the email offender....and together they pronounced the man dead and took matters into their hands! The email offender's continued response: "I love this church and the people in it. The precious Lord knows what is in my heart."

Sheesh.
This kind of passive/aggressive stuff just wears a pastor out.
