Did not Jesus break bread that we might heal and be made whole? If Jesus did break bread that we might have life,
then Jesus knows the brokenness,
the brokenness that we all have within us,
our story,
our life.
Mostly in the church
we walk in without the ability,
the willingness,
the wisdom,
to let our brokenness be seen,
heard,
known.
We walk about as if all is fine,
perfect,
together.
What would community mean
if
when we met
we already
knew?
If we knew that we are all broken
from something,
would we offer
hospitality
in a more genuine way?
Would
we
care less what the source of
our broknness was,
were,
is?
What would happen,
if we already knew,
that each and every person
we
meet
longs to be made whole,
included,
embraced,
loved?
What would happen
if we lived
the "unconditional love"
we say we believe God
has,
is?
Perhaps our brokenness might
be made whole?
Perhaps then I would be healed,
you,
them,
us.
