the motion of worship is sometimes all that is necessary
As a worship leader I am always concerned about connecting themes of scripture with the liturgy. I also focus on creating a particular mood so that participants might better encounter God's Word.
Lately, I have discovered that simply going through the motions of worship can lead to peace and healing.
Stand up, sit down, speak, sing, pray, listen, read....
God promises to be present in worship. I discovered God today in the simple motion of worship.
O.k the story with a bit more honesty. Sometimes the pastor does not feel up to leading others in worship. Sometimes the last thing I want to do is be with people. And yet, even on these occassions.....God is still present. Even when all I can do is go through the motions....God is present offering grace and wisdom. Today was just this.
