every day a new adventure

One of the great things of being a Pastor is everyday has a new adventure. Sure some of the adventures are less than thrilling, and at times aggravating. But on other days I just have a great time. Today was one of them.

I ended my day with a troop of Brownie Scouts. They delivered a sack of new socks for our clothes closet ministry and then I led a couple of activities for them.

We looked at our peace pole and explored the different languages represented. They thought every language was French. We don't have French on our peace pole! Then we went into the sanctuary. I had some stones left over from Sunday's sermon on the stoning of Stephen and we talked about how we as humans can hurt each other. I left the girls with the image of God as our rock and refuge. Each girl chose a stone to take home to remember that God is our rock and they are called to be peace keepers.

Tomorrow I'll have lunch with former parishioners who spend most of their time in Kenya leading mission groups. At 3:00 I meet with a Professor who may agree to be my adviser for my Doctor of Ministry project. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
