love
joy
wonder.
recently the editor of
a certain presbyterian
newspaper wrote
that words matter...
she listed these words:
word, scripture, lord, authority, church,
holiness, piety, life, liberty, freedom, conscience,
sin, atonement, exegesis, devotion, ordination.
then she asked
what
words really do matter to you and
how has the use of those words changed
to the
detriment of our church and culture?
it seems the
ongoing
focus of her
words and the
organization she leads
revolves around
"detriment"
recently she stated
we really should be listening
to those people
who have stood with
jesus
and walked with
jesus.
so
i ponder.
if one has spent time
standing with
jesus and
walking with jesus
what
would the focus be
for our words and our lives?
i look at the picture of
my son and grandson
above and the words
that come to mind are
love
joy
and wonder.
i reflect on the experience
of standing in the midst
of GOD'S
grace and voice
and the words
that come to mind are
love
joy
and wonder.
as i stand along side
jesus...
as i dance with
GOD'S spirit...
as i stand in awe of
GOD
who is as a
parent to me...
all i can
hear and see
is
love
joy
and wonder.
with these three words
i am no longer afraid...
i am no longer focused
on the control
of others...
i have little time
for the things that
seem to be a "detriment".
rather...
GOD
is behind me
beside me
and before me
and
i am
busy
experiencing
love
joy
and wonder.
love
that is unconditional
joy
leading to freedom
wonder
celebrating what is and what will be!
i'll gladly let others
concentrate on
detriment
and maintenance
of what was.
