tis that graduation season again.

this is my son....it is an old picture...
he's not the graduate this year but
it is still a joy to watch him grow
into the man I always knew he would become.

Last night
I attended another graduation
of another young man
I have had the pleasure
and honor
of knowing.

When I first met him
his long hair covered
his eyes and he
grunted his greetings.
If you asked him
then how he defined
life...
he offered one word -
"bored".

Last night
he smiled ear to ear....
read his graduation
cards with dramatic,
joyful expression,
enjoyed the moment.

Way to go James!

Sure he still grunts
from time to time and
says that he is bored....
but the man he is
becoming before our
eyes...
well...
let's just say -
he has, does, and
will
contribute much
to our world.

It's just something I believe.
