hold on....have faith...

So many reminders
from so many people.

"Hold on.
Have faith."

This year has been
the answer to one prayer
I've prayed from
time to time
throughout my life:

"O Lord, give me patience."

A great many of those
uttered prayers
for patience
were not
sincere though.
I was just saying
what I thought
I was supposed to say
and had no intention
of changing
my daily habits.

And then.
Answered prayer.

Change
and
distance
were the tools used
neither of which
I had control.

Ahhh,
the problem...
our addiction
to control.
Strip it away
and the only way
to survive
is a thing called
patience.

"Hold on.
Have faith."

I patiently
live.

I patiently
wait.

I patiently
trust.

Most days
that is.
