Ok, I know....bad picture. I pass this sign up when driving to visit my son. He lives with my sister and her family in Monaville, Texas. Just north of Brenham, Texas this sign can be seen at the corner of Highway 36 and a field. It reads:
It was raining the day I took this picture and cars were flying by me...so I clicked the camera fast (obviously too fast) and zoomed down the road to take a peek at the church. It is a beautiful church....I'll get better pics next time I promise.
Just as I was about to drive away my dogs, who were in thier kennel in the back seat, started to whine and bark. They needed relief. I let them run a bit in a field down the road from the church. One of my dogs, the mutt, dutifully jumped back in the truck. However, the German pure breed....miniature dachshund broke into a full run towards the church.
Perhaps he read the sign on the corner.
Perhaps he was born a Lutheran.
All I know was that he was determined to get into the church. The front door of the sanctuary was propped open. A group was getting ready for a wedding.
I ran as fast as I could after that short legged weisle of a dog. I caught him two feet away from the open door! My daughter says he just wanted to go in an pray.
I'm thinking he was just on a joy run and wanted to share his happiness! After all the church is located on Gay Hill.
Either way, Lutheran or not....he didn't get into the church.
